BTS - Fake Love (Video)

BTS finally deliver the music video for their smash hit song, “Fake Love.”

“Fake Love” is the lead single off of the group’s Love Yourself: Tear album. The video for “Fake Love” expands BTS’ creative narrative, rife with imagery that correlates to its lyrics — such as the appearance of a flower that “can’t be bloomed in a dream that can’t come true” — and refers back to past thematic eras.

Within a hour of its release on YouTube, the “Fake Love” video racked up over a million views. The group will perform the track at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20), where they are also nominated in the Top Social Artist category.

Vocalist Jungkook takes center stage throughout much of the song, running in an Inception-like hallway where floorboards fall away, desperately exploring a wall of water on his own, and eventually returning to the masked figure seen in teaser clips for “Fake Love.”

The choreography featured in the “Love” video similarly reflects the song’s meaning, exhibiting the anguish of the single through sharp movements that extend each member’s body as they desperately power through the motions. Mirrored performances that pair off members, and hand motions that emulate”see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” tie the dance together.
