Singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding returns with a brand new track which is a cover to Don McLean’s song Vincent.

The song, about the tragic life of artist Vincent Van Gogh, gets a delicate, acoustic makeover from Ellie and her angelic vocals.“My album isn’t ready yet, but for the best fans in the world, here’s my offering for Valentines Day, a tribute to Don McLean who wrote this heartbreakingly beautiful and poignant ode to Vincent Van Gogh,” she writes on Instagram. “So much love and big hug.”Ellie’s last album, Delirium, came out in 2015.In recent news Goulding sparked controversy after her music was used by far right politician Marion Le Pen at a leading convention of conservatives in America.

Le Pen, the niece of French National Front leader Marine Le Pen, spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland yesterday – with her entrance soundtracked by Goulding’s ‘Burn’.

Goulding didn’t give permission for the track to be played, and warned the National Front against using her music again.

“I did not give Marine Le Pen permission to use my song at the CPAC. @MLP_officiel Do not use my music in future”, she wrote.

When contacted by a fan who clarified that it was in fact Marion, and not the National Front leader, Goulding replied: “Same difference x”.
