Australian music star Iggy Azalea tells fans that on her upcoming album, she will be honest.

With the release of her Quavo-assisted single “Savior,” the Australian MC revealed the message behind the song and how it relates to the rest of her sophomore album Surviving the Summer.

“‘Savior’ is a pretty personal song,” explained Iggy during an interview with iHeartRadio. “It’s more personal than I think my fans would be used to hearing from me. Usually, I’ll do a collaboration that’s more fun and upbeat, the kind of thing you can run to in the gym.

“This is still something you can have fun to, but I wrote it in a real heavy period in my life, where I had a lot of changes that had happened overnight,” she added. “I had had a big breakup. My career wasn’t going well. I found my time in a space where everything I was used to…had abruptly stopped. I didn’t know how to get my life back together.”

According to the 27-year-old MC, it’s a sign of things to come and part of a much bigger storyline.

“You can expect more honesty from me and my records,” she said. “I still have fun ups and downs and stuff, but the whole point of my record, as a whole, is the turbulence you go through in summer, when you’ve just experienced a big breakup. It’s a lot of highs and a lot of burnouts. My record is that juxtaposition. ‘Savior’ sets the scene. This is day one. This is where I was at. Then moving along from there, this is what happened to me and what I went through.”

“Savior” appeared as the soundtrack to a Monster Products Super Bowl commercial, which featured Azalea alongside Yo Gotti, Poo Bear, Joey Fatone, and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry.

In recent times, Iggy was in the news for her social media activities. Responding to the question on Twitter on Monday, the 27-year-old’s suggestion certainly raised eyebrows.

‘What are you suppose (sic) to buy for men on Valentine’s Day? This question has haunted me since my first high school boyfriend, I bought him underwear. SOS,’ asked one of Iggy’s fans. She replied: ‘Girl. Nothing! A card, P***y or both (depending on how old you are reading this expert advice).’It appears the social media user was indeed over the age of 18, but it’s likely many of Iggy’s eight million Twitter followers are young teenagers.Iggy Azalea Talks New Album; Gives Valentine Gifts Ideas For Her Man
