Slug Christ releases his new album, Judas’ Betrayal and the Three Day Burial of a Salted Slug.
Atlanta’s depresso-rap king and Awful Records’ enfant terrible Slug Christ seems to be lining up an early start to a (hopefully) more prolific year. Late January will see the release of Slugger’s Judas’ Betrayal and the Three Day Burial of a Salted Slug LP, and the rapper has just dropped another track from the album, “Thinkin Bout Prayin.”
The wistful, cloudy song, produced by Christ himself, follows the peppier “Watcha Got,” which was shared back in December. While last year’s It’s Colder at the Bottom of the Shower tackled Slugger’s long-time struggle with addiction, the upcoming mixtape appears to be focused on his other go-to theme of religion. Or maybe I’m getting that solely off the title of the album and the song, who knows?
