Following his introduction from Jimmy Fallon, the R&B maverick was revealed to the studio audience with a massive parachute attached to his custom jumpsuit. As it floated him to virtually nowhere, his backing band rocked out in the parachutes shadow.
“Celebrate every day like a birthday / Good things come to those that wait up (splish) / But don’t wait to jump in too long / Don’t sleep, you gotta stay up (splish),” he sings.
Eventually, Miguel detached himself from the restraints to move freely across the stage, revealing the musicians behind him while the song reached its climax.
Miguel’s anticipated new album War & Leisure was released (Dec. 1).
