Big Sean and Metro Boomin announce new joint album Double or Nothing. The Detroit rapper and St. Louis producer have announced they’re teaming up for a joint album called Double or Nothing, coming soon.
According to Billboard, who have heard a number of tracks off the album, Double or Nothing sees both Big Sean and Metro Boomin pushing each other beyond their respective comfort zones. “Sean has pared down his lyrical approach, cutting to his ideas more quickly than in the past,” Paul Thompson writes. “There are quick, impassioned passages about police violence and racial equality, an unusual focus for Sean.”
Metro, meanwhile, “tries his hand at radically different styles and subgenres…His formative years in St. Louis figure prominently on the album, a sort of omnivorous collage that’s common in rap production from the middle of the country, from Nelly’s early, try-anything records to the delirious eclecticism of 1990s Chicago. On the set, Brazilian jazz samples and would-be blaxploitation themes bump up against one another.”
Double or Nothing will be Big Sean’s first collaborative project. For Metro, it’ll be his fourth (in the last year-and-a-half alone) following Savage Mode with 21 Savage, Perfect Timing with Nav, and the recently released Without Warning with Offset and 21 Savage.

Both Metro Boomin and Big Sean took to social media to reveal that their joint album Double Or Nothing will drop this Friday, December 8th. The cover art to the project is pretty simple as well. It features a silhouette of both artists with just their jewelry standing out.
