In a new interview, Selena Gomez called her relationship with The Weeknd “remarkable.” The Pop star is the latest star to be on the cover of Billboard magazine and has accompanied her feature with an in-depth interview about everything she’s been through, as of late, and where she’s at right now. When the publication asks Selena to describe the best part of being single, she refers to her feelings since ending things with the “Starboy” singer.

“The best part? It’s actually… you know what, though? Something that I’m really proud of is that there’s such a true friendship [between me and The Weeknd]. I truly have never experienced anything like that in my life,” she explains. “We ended it as best friends, and it was genuinely about encouraging and caring [for each other], and that was pretty remarkable for me.”
On the topic of Justin Bieber, who she’s been with on and off since 2010, Selena explains how he’s back in her life because he’s someone who has “impacted” her so greatly.
“I’m 25. I’m not 18, or 19, or 20. I cherish people who have really impacted my life. So maybe before, it could have been forcing something that wasn’t right. But that doesn’t mean caring for someone ever goes away.”
When Selena and The Weeknd first split, tons of photos of Justin and Selena flooded the media – even one of the new couple showing some PDA at a hockey game. The Weeknd seemed to be doing just fine since he was spotted leaving Bella Hadid’s New York Apartment sparking rumours that he, also, had gone back to his ex-fling.
No reports have yet to confirm that they are back together.
