The use of drugs more unlike the traditional ones has become an increasingly frequent topic in rap lyrics by new generation artists, and some more experienced rappers have not seen this with good eyes, and made harsh criticism. Claiming hypocrisy of some more veterans of the American hip-hop scene, raising several interesting points, 21 Savage decided to issue a note expressing strong vision about subject in social networks.
“Why do so many of these ‘original gangster rappers’ judge the new generation? They say we make dope music, as if music about drug sales was better, what’s the difference? What is the fact that rap is the genre number 1 of the music you currently do not recognise Artists have smelled cocaine and smoked crack since the 70s and 80s, have you forgotten that? Instead of judging on how much you have made the change.If the message in previous generations is good because a lot of our relatives were dropped on the crack Why are we still killing ourselves Do not use us as champion justification Our music is a reflection of what gets caught up in our community, and all we’re doing is using our talent to get out of the ghetto.”
