Hip hop music star and rapper Lil Wayne has had fans hoping for a new full project and seems we can look forward to getting the 6th volume in his Dedication mixtape series.
Lil Wayne has also been dropping off a few hints directed toward the development of another famous series of his along the way.
For as long as he’s been hinting at Tha Carter’s newest edition, so has he touched on Dedication 6, a notion that we can trace back to February of 2015 when DJ Drama first posted a photo of the two men alongside Mack Maine on Instagram following Wayne’s Sorry For The Wait 2 release, captioning the photograph “Sorry For The Wait 2. Carter V. Dedication 6.”
A few more snippets of information have come by way of both Drama and Wayne with the first bit of substance stemming from an interview the duo did on Shade 45 back in April of last year.
“I started no longer wanting Drama to put out only songs I’m doing my own little remixes to,” said Lil Wayne. “I started giving him original music. I started approaching mixtapes as to actually getting a little more recognition than albums. So start paying attention to what you’re doing and how you’re doing it on there, and still doing the same thing. That’s why when you ask me what’s my favorite Dedication, I’m always going to say the last one because I’m trying to get only better than the last shit.”
Until recently, the last we heard was via DJ Drama who continued to tease its arrival on social media.
Posting a snapchat of terminal D6 while at the airport in New Orleans and leaving us to connect the dots. Now, the most recent development comes as Lil Wayne recently took to Instagram to post a photo of himself standing next to producer Scott Torch, witht the caption reading, “Who ready 4 dat D6??? drop YM sh!t !!”
The thought of Lil Wayne hopping over the booth over a Torch-produced backdrop is certainly an exciting one.
Wayne has released Dinner time, Like A Man, featured on TY Dolla $ign’s Love U Better and the joint body of work T Wayne with T Pain.
Lil Wayne seems to be getting confident to publicize it. Preparing to launch the project in partnership with the site Datpiff , the rapper released this weekend his official cover, which was made by designer OllyCarterz .
The material has not yet set a date, but the expectation is that it will hit the streets later this year.
