Mi Casa is one of the biggest house bands on the continent right now and 2016 has seen the trio putting in some serious travel miles. When they haven’t been promoting their campaign, “My 1st Sho’t Left” in South Africa, they’ve been making waves across the continent, performing in Africa and collaborating with artists like Sauti Sol.

Most recently, the band visited Uganda as part of their #MicasaUnlocks tour and they were greeted enthusiastically by their fans in UG. MTV Base spoke to the band’s publicist, Sarah Jane Nicholson, to find out how the Ugandan fans took to their music this week. She said:

“The reception to the band was awesome awesome awesome! It was the largest Blankets and Wine to date in Uganda.”

We asked Sarah Jane if the band is planning on doing any more travelling in the near future and she hinted that they will be announcing a worldwide tour in the coming weeks.

“Yes they will [be visiting more countries]. They officially launch their #MiCasaGoneGlobal campaign in July. Please stay tuned to their website for more details!”

After their collaborations with the likes of Sauti Sol and DJ Maphorisa, we were curious to find out if the band was planning on working with any more African acts. Sarah Jane confirmed got us excited when she confirmed:

“They are working with Yemi Alade, Eddy Kenzo & Wizkid at the moment”

We can’t wait to hear some of this new music that is currently in the works!
