TY Dolla Sign – Beach House 3
Sitting down with Fuse, Ty Dolla $ign reveals details on BH3 and lead single “Love U Better.” And though the forthcoming album doesn’t have a date just yet, he tells us he’s finalizing a film and music videos to be released with BH3, so fans can expect a complete package. “I actually put together a whole film that goes with it and the videos will come from that film so they’re already done and just getting edited,” the 32-year-old adds. “And no, I’m never gonna copy anybody. It’s always going to be original.”
The king of collabos is taking a step back and put all artists on hold for a minute as he continues to work on BH3. He’s solely focused on his album and had to shut down working on a few features, but confirms he’ll get back to his people when he can. Watch the full interview for more on Ty’s second studio album.
Keep the Beach House vibes flowing and throw it back to 2014 when Ty talked about the making of his debut EP as well as the stories behind a few of its best songs on Fuse show The Mixdown.
Fans got another taste of the upcoming project Thursday night with the release of the song “So Am I,” featuring Damian Marley and Skrillex.
The track comes not long after Beach House 3‘s previous single “Love U Better,” which featured Lil Wayne and The-Dream. No release date has been announced yet for the project, which is the follow-up to Ty’s 2016 project Campaign, released almost a year ago.
“So Am I,” as one might expect from a track featuring a member of the Marley family, has a heavy reggae influence. It is far from Damian Marley’s only recent high-profile hip-hop appearance—he also worked with Jay Z on the 4:44 track “Bam.”
Ty Dolla $ign took to Instagram 20 September 2017 to share the Beach House 3 album art and release date. The album is set to drop on October 27th through Atlantic Records and the pre-order is now available. The album art features a birds eye view of an island that spells “TY$”. Fans that pre-order the album will get an instant download of the newly released “Message In A Bottle“, “Dawsin’s Breek” ft. Jeremih as well as the previously dropped singles, “Love U Better” ft. Lil Wayne and The-Dream and “So Am I” ft. Damian Marley and Skrillex.
The four singles that have been released are part of a yet-to-be revealed 20 song tracklist. Hopefully some of the newer artists he’s been working with lately pop up on the album.
Aside from him upcoming album, he recently performed at VH1’s Hip Hop Honors awards where he performed a tribute for Montel Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It” before hopping up on stage with Warren G to perform his classic 90’s joint “Regulate”.
