2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards Winners
The New MTV Movie & TV Awards aired for the first time ever Sunday night, hosted by “Pitch Perfect” and “Workaholics” star Adam Devine.
For the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards — known previously as the MTV Movie Awards from 1992-2016 — the network honored fan-favorites in both film and television. “Beauty and the Beast” took home movie of the year, while “Stranger Things” won the first-ever show of the year award.

This was also the first incarnation of the event to not differentiate between actors based on gender. Instead, female, male, and gender non-binary actors are all competed for the top acting awards. Emma Watson won the movie prize for best actor for her performance in “Beauty and the Beast,” while Millie Bobby Brown won best actor in a TV show for playing Eleven in “Stranger Things.”
